ABOUT US
Multiple studies show that arts can play a major role in a child’s success in the classroom. Unfortunately, schools across the country have been forced to reduce or eliminate their arts programs in an effort cut costs.Discover Arts Academy was founded to offset the budget cutbacks and supplement the arts curriculum offered in local schools. Our goal is to introduce children to the wide world of the arts in a relaxed, fun and interactive way! Drama queens, Junior chefs and wannabe Picasso’s of all skill levels are welcome!
Expert Instruction
All campers are introduced to the arts by experts, not inexperienced camp counselors. For example, our Dramatic Arts week is led by a drama instructor, our Visual Arts week is led by an arts teacher and our Culinary Arts week is led by a professional chef.Ages
We accept children in Kindergarten to Sixth grades.Course Schedule
Our program schedule is designed to mirror the three week trackout breaks of students enrolled in Wake County’s year-round public schools. For example, the first week of trackout is typically focused on Dramatic Arts, the second week is focused on Culinary Arts and the third week of is Visual Arts.The schedule, however, does not exclude children enrolled in traditional schools, home schools, etc. All children are invited to attend during breaks and holidays.
Daily Agenda
Our hours are from 7am to 6pm, with primary instruction occurring between 9am and 3pm. Campers are asked to bring their lunches and two snacks for every day. The daily agenda is listed below:| 7:00am – 9:00am | Dropoff | Campers start day with crafts and games |

| 12:00am – 1:00pm | Lunch/Recess | Lunch; free play |
| 1:00pm – 3:00pm | Arts Instruction | Afternoon art session, includes snack break |
| 3:00pm – 6:00pm* | Pickup | Campers end day with crafts, reading, games, & computers |
Every Friday, the campers will showcase their newfound talents to parents, siblings, other family members and friends. All are welcome to attend!

facility at least one week prior to the first day of your child’s attendance.
